Abdomen

Abdomen is a good area for Liposuction. To get the best results the Waist and Hips should be done as well.  Where possible they should all be done at the same time. Otherwise two separate procedures are necessary. The new regulation introduced by the Medical Board in March 2017 has prevented Cosmetic Surgeons from removing more than 2500 ml of fat in the one procedure thus making it necessary to have two procedures in the bigger cases.

Doing them under Tumescent Local Anaesthesia is the way to go. Walk in Walk out and ready to go back to work in 3 days.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A TUMMY TUCK (ABDOMINOPLASTY)?

Your Cosmetic Surgeon should be able to let you know at the time of consultation if Liposuction alone can achieve the result you want or if you need a Tummy Tuck as well.  It’s not an age thing.  It’s to do with the quality of your skin. When the skin is firm and tight , even when you have a lot of fat, it is still possible to get a good result with Liposuction.  When Hips and Waist have to be done as well, the best results are achieved with Liposuction.

Where the skin is loose and flabby, a Tummy Tuck is necessary in addition to Liposuction. Sometimes both procedures can be done in the one session under a General Anaesthetic and sometimes under Local Anaesthetic.
