Dr Lim graduated with an MBBS from the University of Sydney in 1966 and has worked both in Australia and overseas. This has taught him a lot about seeing the patient as a whole rather than through a tunnel vision. Since embarking on a career in cosmetic medicine in 1993, Dr Lim has acquired a high level of experience in a wide variety of cosmetic procedures.

The Ashbrooke Cosmetic Surgery where he practises has two locations – one in Crows Nest and the other in Parramatta. Dr Lim is well known for his work in Body Shaping using the technique called Tumescent Liposuction under Local Anaesthetic. The patient is under light sedation and relaxed but not totally asleep. This allows the patient to move around while on the operating table thus allowing the doctor to reach the awkward parts of the body more easily resulting in the right shape possible. This is the up to date method used by the majority of Liposuction Doctors around the world. As a result of his good work in this field he has been regularly asked to train the other doctors in Liposuction.

He is also well known for his skill in Volume Treatments and Muscle Relaxing Injections as well as in Sclerotherapy.  As a result he is also called upon to train other doctors in these fields by leading companies in the cosmetic industry.

A strong believer in, and advocate of, promoting the benefit of a strong united body to represent cosmetic doctors, Dr Lim is very involved with The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery & Medicine (ACCSM) and is not only a Fellow of the Faculty of Medicine of the ACCSM but also a council member and current treasurer. He was the Past President of the ACCSM.  He is now the Chairperson of the ACCSM Liposuction Committee which looks after its Liposuction training program. He is also a mentor for the Surgical and Medical Registrars of the ACCSM and has convened the college’s annual Liposuction Workshops since 2004. He has been largely responsible for the establishment of the ACCSM Charitable Foundation through which the college encourages its members and the cosmetic industry to donate funds towards deserving causes in the community.

For all the services he has given to the college he has been awarded a Life Membership in the ACCSM.
